Online store development
and ongoing support

AppsCraft arranges developers, designers and ecommerce operations specialists who know your platform. They can build a new store, make changes to an existing one, or handle product updates and orders after launch.

Common ecommerce work

Store development

Pages and checkout agreed before development starts

For a new store or changes to an existing one, we go through it with you first: which pages you need, how products are grouped and shown, how customers place an order, and what to test before launch. Once scope and responsibilities are agreed, we look for developers or a team who know the platform.

  • Site structure & page hierarchy
  • Product & collection pages
  • Cart, checkout & back office
Product content

Lots of products? Set one format and work in batches

With a large product catalogue, descriptions, specifications, categories and images can become inconsistent. We agree the format, categories, image selection and proofreading responsibilities, then arrange for content editors to work in batches. We also list any images or other assets that still need to be produced.

Updates and support after launch

After launch, orders need processing and product and campaign content needs updating. We agree the tasks, frequency and approvers with you, then arrange an operations specialist or service team for ongoing support.

Design for product pages, collections and campaign assets

If customers struggle to find products, or the store needs a full redesign, an ecommerce UI designer can plan the page hierarchy and shopping flow first. Banners and campaign images in different sizes can be produced alongside that work.

Ways to work

Who can deliver your ecommerce project

Clearly defined tasks

Ecommerce freelancers

Clearly defined work, such as product listings, page updates or store settings, can be handled by a freelancer who knows your platform.

Combined specialist skills

Ecommerce specialist teams

When product content, interface design and feature development need to be handled at the same time, we can arrange a team with the relevant skills to share the work.

Full builds and maintenance

Ecommerce service companies

For a complete store build, phased development or ongoing maintenance, an ecommerce service company can manage the work and arrange staffing and delivery as agreed.

AppsCraft is your point of contact. We prepare the brief and coordinate questions and feedback between you and the delivery partner, who carries out the store work.

Pre-launch checks & handover

We go through the pre-launch checks item by item. Then we check everything on the handover list agreed in the scope and note any tasks still outstanding, so later updates and day-to-day running are easier.

Common questions

We already have a Shopify or WooCommerce store. Can we just make changes?

Yes. For a Shopify store we look at the current setup, theme and the features you want, and check third-party tools and maintenance. For a WordPress store we list the product, order or plugin changes first. Then we find a developer who knows the platform.

We have many products and the information isn’t organised yet. What then?

You don’t need to sort it all out first. We agree the description format, categories, images and proofreading, then content editors work through it in batches. Confirmed and unconfirmed details are kept separate.

Can everyday updates after launch be arranged too?

Yes. Product updates, campaign content and maintenance can go to an operations specialist or service team on an ongoing basis. How often things are updated, and who approves them, is agreed before starting.

Who does the development and production?

The developer, designer, content editor or team agreed for your project. AppsCraft prepares the brief, arranges the people involved and remains your contact while the store work is done.

Who do we pay?

AppsCraft. We agree the stages and the price of each before any store work begins, and you pay for each stage before it starts. The quote includes our service fee.

What happens if requirements change during production?

Tell us what you want to change, such as an extra page or a different checkout step. We check with the partner what it does to scope, timing and fees, and work carries on once you’ve agreed.

Analyse your store's problems
and identify what to improve

Share your store link and tell us what is not working for you. We will help investigate the causes and identify the content or features to improve, then arrange a specialist or team to take on the work. If your store is still being planned, we can discuss that with you too.
